New express train service from Colombo to Anuradhapura

Mass Media, Transport and Highways Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena says that an express train will operate from Colombo to the sacred city of Anuradhapura every weekend from next week.

He said that the train leaving Colombo Fort on Saturday morning to Anuradhapura will return to Colombo Fort from Anuradhapura the next day.

The Minister announced this Sunday (02) while speaking to the media after visiting and receiving the blessings of Mahanayaka Thera of the Asgiriya Chapter.

Minister Dr. Gunawardena said devotees can use this train to visit various sacred places in Anuradhapura and return to Colombo the next day.
