Sri Lanka was ranked among India, US, Galápagos Islands, and Australia, as a top “next safari” option in other parts of the world, with some tips on the best ways to enjoy them.

“Many in the travel industry have told me they think this will be one of the next big “it” destinations, driven by a unique hybrid of the best land animals and largest sea creatures.

“The nation has one of the planet’s densest populations of leopards and is arguably the best place to reliably see these magnificent cats, even more so than most of Africa. There are also Asian elephants, peacocks, water buffalo, monkeys, and sloth bears,” it described about Sri Lanka.

“Whale watching is hugely popular around the globe, from Cape Cod to the Dominican Republic, but Sri Lanka is one of the only places to easily see the world’s largest living creatures, blue whales,” it highlighted.

It also noted that Sri Lanka also has: “a true classic safari product, and the combination of leopards and blue whales is totally unique.”

From the beginning of this year, Sri Lanka continually gained attention for its unique tourism offerings and its scenic beauty.

Earlier, Sri Lanka was ranked ninth in a list of the 50 most Instagrammable places in the world in 2023, based on Big 7 Travel social media data, whilst the destination was also ranked among the top 24 countries to travel in 2023 by TravelTriangle, a leading online holiday marketplace.

Analysts pointed out that the continuous global limelight on Sri Lanka for positive and deserving reasons has been a major boost to showcase the attractiveness of the destination.
