
SpiceJet resumes Madurai-Colombo flights
India’s budget carrier SpiceJet yesterday (20th) resumed direct services between Madurai and Colombo. The six services are on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from Madurai to Colombo from a scheduled arrival time of 14.25 and a scheduled departure time of 15.10.
The move is expected to further increase Indian tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka with the boosted connectivity and higher frequencies.
India remains the top source market for Sri Lanka year-to-date with 154,787 tourists.
Sri Lanka Tourism Promotional Bureau carried out several promotional campaigns in India targeting key cities which reflected in arrival numbers from India monthly and YTD.
