Itinerary Plan

Colombo

You will arrive at Colombo while witnessing some of the many marks that the colonials have left behind. This includes the Portuguese port and British colonial houses. You will then be taken on a magnificent tour of the city, you will be able to bear witness to the old quarters of Fort and Pettah, Galle Face Green promenade, and finally you will cast your eyes upon the Parliament building, which was designed by Bawa in the year 1979. Later on you will be able to enjoy dinner at a restaurant where Bawa once used to use as a workshop. Colombo is full of all the aspects of urban life style. From shopping to recreation and night life is possible in the city.

Kithulgala

At Kithulgala you will be able to get the thrill and enjoyment that comes only by rafting. At Kithulgala, you are offered the chance to enjoy a 3 hour rafting trip on the Kelani River. The river will be smooth enough, so that you can enjoy your hilly surroundings. Afterwards you will be able to have a hike in the jungle, and may even get the chance to have a picnic lunch.

Nuwara Eliya via Hatton

On your day 03 you will be going further up to Nuwara Eliya. You will be traversing through the tea plantations. During the two night stay, you will visit a tea estate, try yourself to pluck tea, visit a tea factory and enjoy fresh Ceylon tea.

On the second day morning you will be taken to the entrance of Horton Plains Nature Site. When you follow the 10 KM marked path, you will be taken to witness a fair amount of luxurious waterfalls, highlands and forests. This area, in which you will be hiking, has been deemed a World heritage Site since 1988 by UNESCO. On this hike, you will be able to witness, beauty endemic to Sri Lanka.

Ella

You will be able to have breakfast at the hotel; afterwards you have the option of going on a wonderful hike with an English Trekking guide. You also have the options of Climbing ‘Ella Rock’, or give your soul a treat by feasting on the rich countryside of Bandarawela. Another great area for a hike is Haputale. And, depending on the route you choose, you will be able to have a quiet little swim in a waterfall, visit a tea factory or even meet a few tea pickers who wouldn’t mind giving you a demonstration.

Kandy

After arriving to Kandy, a world heritage city, which remains the last Royal capital of the country, you will proceed to your hotel to get rest on the first day.

After a hearty breakfast, you will discover the heart of the city on foot, as to fully take in the grandeur of its historic beauty. You will first visit, The Temple of the Tooth, the most Sacred Buddhist place of worship on the Island. There you will see the skills of ancient Kandyan artists at their best. Afterwards, we would like to suggest a hike to discover three more sacred Buddhist shrines. Firstly, the Ambakke Temple, which is filled with many wood sculptures which have taken inspiration from the Hindu Religion. Secondly, the Lankathilake temple, which is known throught the world for its breath-taking frescoes, rock carvings, and statues of Lord Buddha. Finally, the Gadaladeniya Temple is suggested for you to end your hike. At the end of the day, you will be able to witness, the glorious traditional dances that Kandy is known for.

Habarna /Minneriya /Polonnaruwa

To avoid the crowds, you will embark in the morning to the world heritage site, as classified by UNESCO, Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock. This enormous rock, gives you a heavenly view of the village below, from 200 m height. You will be able to see the talents of the builders, and artists from the ancient days of Sri Lanka. You witness their great skill when you see the cave that is filled with Frescoes Demoiselles, the gardens and the ruins of the palace of the Great King Kashyapa. After Lunch you will be driven to Minneriya National Par for an iconic jeep safari. You can see a wide diversity of animals, including but not limited to, crocodiles, buffaloes, deer, and many more. But the main attraction would be the elephants. You will hopefully be able to see at least a dozen by the end of your trip.

Negombo

You will first be taken to Negombo, specifically a angelic Beach town, which has been dubbed as ‘Little Rome’. It is close enough to your airport, for you to have a fair amount of relaxation after your long flight. After a significant amount of rest, you will have the options of either, go for a walk around town and visit a few breathtakingly beautiful colonial churches, or you could take a boat ride down the longest canal in Sri Lanka, the Muthurajawela Canal. This area is home to more than a hundred species of birds.

Overnight stay – Negombo
